Groundswell Architecture Community October Session

As summer comes to a close and we are greeted by autumn, we too welcome the return of the Groundswell Architecture Community sessions. REGISTER HERE

Join us for our next event scheduled on Thursday, October 2nd at our head office at 4:30pm. We have two new and very interesting presentations planned.

Greg Campbell (CEO) and Steve Hole (CTO) of Spieker Point, will be sharing their expertise on “The Unbundling Arena.”

Unbundling is a growing trend that favours smaller software applications to effectively run one or two functions of the business, resulting in multiple independent solutions. This presentation will highlight how Spieker Point architected their own software to cost-effectively gather real-time business intelligence while capitalizing on multiple smaller software packages; sit in the middle of data islands (a side effect of unbundling), quickly bridging, provide linkage and visibility; and be a container for policy constraints to recognize emerging trends and ensure they don't violate regulations.

Our second presentation delivered by Dominic Osler, Groundswell’s Senior Integration and Analytics Consultant, is “Methods of Reducing the CV Gap.”

The basic idea of the Capability Value Gap (aka CV Gap) is the potential value that increasingly capable modern technologies are progressively diverging from average organizations' ability to effectively implement these capabilities (and thus derive value from them). This presentation provides methods to reduce this gap by establishing Organizational Information Capabilities which implement and run technical tools. Program management and governance will be discussed in terms of its differences from traditional Project Management, and implementing an Advanced Analytics capability will be used as an example.

The Groundswell Architecture Community facilitates regularly scheduled meetings focused on a range of thought-evoking topics relevant to the architecture industry and our roles as technology leaders. The premise behind the community is simple: to create a professional network of those interested in, and influenced by, architecture best practices, trends and networking opportunities.

Like every Groundswell Architecture Community discussion, this meeting will leverage initiatives, methodologies and case studies to maximize flow of information and engage attendees in an open, collaborative setting.
